who is millie?
This is by far our most commonly asked question. So, drumroll, please. Miss Millie, is my grandmother (A’Leithia, here btw. Pleasure to meet you). When my father, Percival Sweeting, opened our wash house, he named it after his mother, ‘Millie’. Though we have a new way of doing business, we still consider it a family business and count it a joy to make ‘Mum’ aka ‘Miss Millie’ and my dad, proud!
how do you determine what a load is?
Well, there are 3 ways our team determines what a load is:
By Color. We sort clothes based on colours and we are careful not to mix uncommon colours together, to better ensure the longevity of the items placed in our care.
By Capacity. We use regular commercial-size washers to care for your clothing. We’re careful not to load these washers with anything more than 7.5 lbs of your precious laundry. Once clothes have been sorted and that capacity has been reached, additional items are transferred into another load. We believe in giving your items the best clean, so we simply do not overload our washers.
By Type. We do our best to keep like items together; avoiding mixing linens with regular-wear items. Again, this is to retain the value and wearability of your items for as long as possible. We treat your clothes like we would treat our own, and better still, like ‘grammy’ would treat them.
We want the best for your items, but we’re also here to cater to your specific requests regarding your items. So always let us know what you need and we will do whatever we can to fill that need.
do you wash infant/toddler clothing?
Oh yes, we do! Send them over. We’ll be sure to wash them with baby-friendly detergents that will get them really clean and smelling baby-fresh!
Do you accept credit/debit cards as a form of payment?
The answer is a strong YES!!! We are convenience-lovers and if you’re one too, you‘ll be happy to know that you can ditch the trip to the atm and just enter those credit card deets through our online payment platform! Bummer though…AMEX cards are currently a no-go. Visa and MasterCard are fully welcome here.
Do you offer ironing services?
We absolutely do! Yachties love us, and we love them too! Linens, uniforms, ‘Friday-night get-up outfit’…we’ve got you covered. So simply schedule a pick-up and select our ironing service, or contact us for further info about how you can start living your best wrinkle-free life now! NOTE: Pricing for ironing (and dry-cleaning) is not listed on our website, so please contact for further info.
Do you have daytime pick-ups?
We sure do! Though our standard pick-up and delivery time is in the evenings, we do offer daytime pick-ups/drop-offs as often as we are able to between 1pm and 4pm. We are always a phone call or message away, if you need to request a not-so-standard pick-up/drop-off time. It’ll be our joy to see how we can make it happen for you!
do I have to sort my own clothes?
Nope, we’ll do that for you! But if you have a special way you want them to be separated for washing and drying, go ahead and give it a world! We’ll still apply our expert sorting skills to make sure everything is colour and texture safe before sending your items to us.
can I get my clothes back ON the same day?
You sure can! Just make our team aware of your request and we’ll be sure to let you know how best we can fulfil it. Note that there is a fee for same-day returns depending on the nature of your order.
will my items be washed with someone else’s items?
Never! In fact, we are careful not to even handle more than one client’s items at a time. So, no worries there! We always give you the speciality treatment!
Do You wash underwear?
We certainly do. Don’t be bashful, leave the ‘tighty-whities’ with us. We understand that it’s a delicate set of items, but it’s okay, we’re all human and we all need clean undies!
